Can somebody confirm 0-60 in 6 sec for 2.0T?
Watching reviews on 2.0T and all reviewers can't go faster than 7-7.4 sec 0-100km/h. Yes, we have a bit deforced version of 2.0T from 255HP to 247HP, but still numbers looks strange.

The stinger has been around for over a half year in Korea and I have never seen anyone getting 6.1s (the official number) with the 2.0T, even with the G70 which is a bit lighter. It always seem to be around the 7s mark at best, so I do not understand the official time...

Although I don't like Car & Driver for their German biases, I do think their spec lists are as accurate as any in the industry and they've been around long enough to know how to test cars for bare specs. The 2.0L was 6.1 in their testing. Google "Car & Driver stinger 2L" for the report.

Assuming this is correct, then it must be harder to duplicate the official time with the 2.0 than the 3.3.

I suspect that because the 2.0L "can" use lower octane than the 3.3L that might be what's in the tank during testing. Check other reviews like Edmunds, Road & Track, etc. and see if you can get a consensus.

Car and driver I saw had the 2.0 clocked at 6.6 to 60. Which makes sense to me. The optima is lighter with the same engine and it's not any quicker than 6.0 to 60. (6.6 for the newer models) That 7.4 number seems slow though.

6.6 to 60 is about 6.8 to 100km/h.
The difference with 7.4 may be due to road condition, wind or/and octane ratio in the fuel used, as mentionned earlier.

Yes, fuel there definitely not 98 and octane number is not true even in that case usually.

Yeah, in my latest Car & Driver magazine they got 6.1 and that was an AWD model. I suspect the RWD version would get 6.0 or below. And as for the Optima, I've seen numbers ranging all the way from 5.7 to 7.0, which is obscene. Anyone who can't get a 2.0T Optima to 60 in less than 7 seconds ought to be drummed out of the car magazine business. And then publicly shamed. :)

0-60 times are all over the place, no matter what car you're talking about. It depends so much on conditions and the car's setup and the talent of the tester.

Does the 2.0 Stinger have launch control?

Unfortunately no launch control, in regard to 0 - 60 there are mods available that will crush any testing numbers.
Are you sure? I've seen videos of launch control being used on the 2.0 model.

We have a discussion going on about that article right here: Car and Driver: The Four Doesn't Bore

I don't think there's any magic to their achievement. If they can do it, it can be done.

I haven't actually used launch control yet on my 2.0 Premium. Still avoiding mashing the gas and brake pedals.

However, Car and Driver's review of the 2.0 Base AWD states that it does have launch control. See the section titled "It's Got the Moves" about half way into the review:
2018 Kia Stinger 2.0T AWD Test | Review | Car and Driver

"At the test track, using the car’s launch-control system, the base-engine Stinger managed a zero-to-60-mph time of 6.1 seconds and a quarter-mile run of 14.7 seconds at 95 mph."

The korean model has launch control. I would be surprised if the US model doesnt. Can you try the launch control sequence without launching it? There should be a message popping up saying "Launch control activated".

Here is a video of the 2.0 launch control:
(not a good 0-100 time in this video..)

Good idea!

By the way, your Stinger in Deep Chroma Blue is absolutely beautiful!

Thank you!
I am a big fan of the white stinger too ;)

감사합니다

I'm just waiting for some warm, dry weather here to go to town with my Gyeon products. After thorough prep, will do three or four coats of Gyeon's Q2 Mohs ceramic coating.

By the way, any sightings of Stingers in K-Dramas yet? Definitely the right car for the protagonist-hero character!

I can confirm that the 2.0 RWD and AWD have launch control. Launch control procedure is
1. Sport Mode
2. Traction and stability off
3. Mash brake pedal
4. Floor gas pedal
5. You will hear a ding and launch will be active (you will see it com up on the driver screen). Let go of the brakes at ~2k rpms and off you go.

***With RWD, your window is more like 2 seconds until she starts going into a nice smokey burnout***
