Bulging Dahboard Top

I've got a dashmat so I will probably never know.
Me too. I think I'll avoid lifting it to investigate in case I get scared.

Holy flying dash mat! If airbag deploys.

Yes this is normal and acceptable but mine has irregular raised asymmetrical imperfection and is not acceptable. Kia NZ have acknowledged and are investigating now. Here is my 5 year old Volvo dash and the airbag deploy hatch which is rectangular is all but invisible and needs eyeballing from 6 inches to detect vaguely. All dashes should be as good. My stinger is crud by comparison in this respect.

I have the same thing, it’s not the airbag tho

Would you please take a photo and post it - many thanks.

Kia NZ are awaiting a new shipment of stingers to also have a look at them and evaluate. They arrive at the end of the month but interim suspicion lies with the underside of the dash where the reinforcing changes significantly to allow the airbag to deploy through and may be distorting over time.

For those worried about flying dash mats I recommend this -

You've pushed a button: I HATE downforce cars. Why the "rools" makers allowed them to begin at the end of the 60s is beyond me. Couldn't anyone, by the mid 70s, see where this was going? And now we have cars pulling over 4 Gs cornering and braking, because of High Downforce. What did that do? Increase the fun? Look at that getup: neck bracing or you're dead; arm support, back support, thigh support, exhaustion at rattling high speed. I don't think so. But that's the Real World of "going faster", as if that were the prime goal. Well, of course, in a sense it is: but it could have stayed relative. What possible RL vehicles application does HD have? Rhetorical question, since "none at all" is the answer. So, there was never any commercial application to HD.

If I had my way, F-1 would have banned all HD; and handling "wings" would have been limited to tabs not exceeding a specific maximum (very conservative) size, to improve the handling only, which is always a good idea since that improves safety. Car dimensions are just ridiculous: they never should have exceeded a maximum wheelbase and width. Same with Sports Cars, all classes. No HD, only aerodynamics. (Rant over, now.)

Merlin , you need help . Try to express how you really feel , let it out man , its therapeutic !

neck bracing or you're dead

HANS devices are common in all motorsport these days - more than anything, they stop your head from becoming a projectile and breaking your neck during a sudden stop.

They actually reduce lateral (side to side) motion, reducing visibility.

As soon as we have a cage, proper race seat and harness in the STI, I'll be grabbing a HANS device and installing the posts for my helmet (I bought a HANS-ready helmet for this reason).

You can't run a HANS device without a proper harness, as the shoulder straps are what holds the HANS device onto your body and thus anchoring your head.
