Brushed Aluminum Trip

Not sure if this has been posted before but has anyone had issues with the trim starting to come off in the interior? I am pretty careful when it comes to my stinger and I have no idea how this even happened as no one else drives my car and I hand wash it myself.

Long story short does anyone know how to fix this? Is it even possible? Thanks in advance all that reply.

that's unfortunate. must have managed to hit it with something in your hand getting in or out. probably touchup paint is your best bet, but it might look no better or worse.

by the way that isn't brushed aluminum anymore than that soft stuff is leather.

That’s what I initially thought but I don’t carry anything in my hand except my phone. Even then I have a case I still do not think it could cause that damage.

I thought it was brushed aluminum. Still don’t know what the heck it is. I guess the bad thing is I never see it unless I look there which I hardly do.

yes, that is an almost 'ideal' place for an ouchie. trying to touch it up wouldn't be a high risk of 'why did I do that?'

I think that the accent trims including the accent lighting strip on the passenger side of the dash are all translucent plastic with a skin finish of some material that does not respond to buffing at all. this I assume from damage to the accent lighting strip above the glovebox as mentioned in old posts. some guy's gf smacked his with her purse or laptop or whatever it was, anyway dinged it pretty bad. we never did come up with anything to help other than 'look into replacement', not very helpful.

You could have a shop wrap it, or diy it. Obviously the oem replacement option is there. Or the CF overlay kit thats available.

That is something I didn’t even think about. That’s actually a good idea. If I happen to get another unfortunate one randomly and it shows every time I get in the car then overlay it is.
