My car knowledge is dahm near zeroso thanks for the help, but do these brake pads look good still or time for new ones?

Those pads look 80% capacity. Plenty of pad left.

The braking vibrations is the single biggest area of complaint with the Stinger.

Change your stock pads to a different one. They are the culprit.

They look like they can provide many many many thousands more miles of shaky vibrating braking performance.

Your best bet is to throw them in the garbage and replace with just about any aftermarket pads .

They look about 20% worn, 80% left. But pulsation when braking.... Aweful.

There are some well-known issues with the factory pads especially the fronts. It seems like almost everyone who has the Brembos will experience this (including myself). I would recommend switching to an aftermarket brake pad such as the Stoptech Performance Brake Pads (Click HERE). If you have any questions or need assistance finding brake pads for your vehicle please send us an email at Sales@K8StingerStore.com.

Thank you!
I began this complaint with my 1st 2018 Stinger about the brakes shuddering back in November 2018 and some people who follow this thread including the dealers said "oh its your driving style: I now have a 2020 GT2 and at 12000 miles the shuddering returns.
However Kia finally is aware of this inherit recurring problem and replaced the the front discs and front pads.
However i can assure you the shuddering will reoccur again.
Other than the brakes i love the car.......but OMG the shuddering is ridiculous.

Hi everyone,

I had my front rotors resurfaced around July of 2021. The car drove good for a few days and the shuddering came back but it was felt more in the rear =P. I'm trying to get the front and rear pads replaced. The only time I've ever changed pads was on my Evo X cuz I had that car for 10 years and needed new pads and rotors so I got the stoptech kit. Those were nice and smooth never had a problem. Right now I'm looking for the front and rears and doesn't seem like anyone is carrying the rears right now. Any recommendation on a brand equal to stoptech in price (that's not too expensive) trying to keep all four under $400 and reliability?

2019 Stinger GT2 AWD

I bought my Stinger used, and when I inquired at the original selling dealer service, about its history, they indicated that the original owner had the car in for the brake vibration and they replaced pads and rotors. This was not long before I bought it. First thing I did was put Stoptech pads on and have not had any issues in the 6K miles I have had it.

2019 GT2 owner; bought new in June of 19......at 40k I did research and changed to R1 concepts e-line drilled /slotted rotors......got AKEBONO front pads (high performance and dust free) with R1 concepts on the rear
Nearly 10k miles and nothing remotely close to the feeling prior.....my understanding is KIA cheaped out so to speak and put underperforming rotors on our beloved Stingers.

Quick story : KIA told me that they would true the stock rotors and replace the brembo pads for 800 dollars......I had the 4 rotors (upgraded mine you) installed with upgraded pads on all 4 for a total of 700.......20210722_083423.webp20210722_080556.webp

The OEM rotors (Brembo) are fine! The OEM pads (Brembo) seem to be the issue. That has been my experience. Many users resolve the pulsating brake issue by merely replacing the pads with almost any aftermarket brand.

Just going by what I've been told.....only brembo is calipers and pads from my understanding but either way I wanted the look of drilled and slotted! Lol

Calipers = Brembo
Pads = Brembo
Rotors = Brembo

so what exactly is the next move if you have already changed the pads from stock but still end up having squeaking sounds and vibrator when barely pressing on the brakes?

Squeaky - almost certainly pads - try another brand of live with it. Not much else can be done for loud brakes.

Pulsation - new aftermarket pads with known straight rotors..... If that doesn't work,. Try alternate pads. And or alternate rotors.

Your mileage may vary

What pads did you use, and did you do a bed in procedure?

green stuff in the front. I would need to figure out what my back pads are. and yes I did. a mechanic of mine told me my rotors look warped but IDK I kinda don't trust that at all since he recommended some slotted rotors he had

As others have noted, squealing brakes is most likely the type of pads you are using. Personally, I think squealing brakes is a normal thing for high performance brakes. I’ve had a Firebird Trans Am with Hawk HPS pads that squealEd. Both my last Corvette (Vortex pads) and current Corvette (Brembo) have squeaky brakes. No big deal!

I suspect the vibration is actually shuddering caused by left over pad deposits on the rotors from the previous pads. Did your mechanic “clean” the rotor surface before putting in the new pads? This can be done with a Scotch pad or a light cut.

One thing you can try is another “aggresive” pad bed in. If that doesn’t work, new rotors may be required. Slotted rotors are a good choice.

yeah, the vibration is annoying. whenever I hit the breaks on the freeway I feel it till it shows down more but I will be sure to burn it off today and if not slotted rotors baby

The Stinger owner's manual even gives a heads up about noisy "high performance Brembo brakes": a "scratch" or "rrrrr" sound is "normal operation.
