Around 2 months ago my car gave me a dashboard notification that my engine was overheating, my temps were completely fine that day, the engine began emitting white smoke and I immediately pulled over within 30 seconds.

My 3rd cylinder misfired and my mechanic just believed I needed a new coil for the cylinder & radiator. Those did not fix the issue.

Upon further investigating, it seemed that I blew my head gasket and I may have needed a head replacement. My mechanic took the head out of the car to see if it was able to be repaired. The head is fine and can be repaired at a machine shop, although my engine block was cracked at the third cylinder (pictures below).

I am at a total loss for words, I have spent well over $10,000 on modding this car and just purchased a new tune and carbon hood to replace my JB4, I am assuming the tune had damaged the engine.

I don’t know much about cars, this was my first car and I’m being advised to buy a used engine with a warranty rather than replacing the whole engine block since my mechanic won’t provide any warranty after repairing the engine. I am here to ask if anyone could help me find a new 2.0l engine, or advice on what you think my next move should be. I’m really searching for a used engine with low mileage (<30,000mi) with a good warranty (hopefully around 1 year atleast). Every other part of my current engine is functional (turbo, head, etc) but I feel it will cost roughly the same amount of money to repair my current engine as it would to buy a new one with less miles and a warranty. I’m worried something will go wrong with fixing the current engine and mechanic will tell me it was from another type of issue that wasn’t there in the first place.

I have considered getting rid of the Stinger but I love the car so much and don’t want it to go to waste. Currently at 47,000 miles when this happened. Thank you if you decide to help, I’m not sure what to do next.

I might have a 26k mile engine here soon out of a G90... hopefully in the next month or so

Edit: ah you need a 2.0 not the 3.3

Engine swapping is always an option although I’m not too sure about the additional sensors on the 3.3’s haha

imagine it would be harness, and ecu im sure the body is mostly the same like most manufacturers would have to see if subframe is any different im sure they tried to keep most of it the same for cost purposes

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Are you reinstalling jb4 on "new" engine?

That sounds really good news, price, warranty and all that. May everything go smoothly.

Elephant in the room, who's tune was it?
