Just curious if anyone has had a ball joint failure on a fairly low mileage stinger? Only suspension mod I have is Eibach lowering springs and I've maybe put 3k miles on my car in the last year so I'm a little irritated to say the least.

Who installed your springs? It could have been damaged when they separated it to put the front springs in.

I installed the springs and it's not like it's my first time doing suspension mods like that either. My car was hit on that side the second day I had my car and I'm starting to wonder if there was more damage than what was previously thought or maybe it was me and I just didn't take notice.

A collision could for sure cause premature failure. I’d guess that over something you did when you put the springs in.

I have the lowering springs on it now so I'm thinking I'm better off just eating the costs and doing it myself versus fighting with the dealer to replace it.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Id try the dealer first. Worth a shot and it’ll save you time and money.

How do you know the ball joint failed? Is there movement in it?

Turns out the lateral arm on the driver's side has a fairly large rip in the rubber boot.

Think that was from the collision? Did you take it to the dealer?

I don't think it was, the bottom of the arm is scuffed and the boot is torn right above that so I guess I possibly hit something a while ago but who knows. I called them and they couldn't give me an answer either way if they would cover it or not so I'm not taking my car an hour away and missing work to possibly be denied.

I tore my boot doing my spring install initially. Tried to see if KIA would cover it but as soon as they saw different springs they denied it. So if you want to roll that dice I recommend going back to stock suspension

The boot kit is ~70$. I doubt that removing springs are worth it...

Exactly why I won't even bother trying. Far too much effort going back to stock and towing to the dealer versus the cost of the part and doing it myself.
