Hey, new to the site, 2021 gt1. I was wondering if theres anyway to get pops and bangs out of the stinger without a tune? Purely exhaust.

Easiest way to achieve that sort of noise is getting a secondary downpipe delete and get a exhaust with a x pipe. It might be more “burbles” than “pops and bangs”

Or just buy a junkyard beater from the 70s.

Or pretty much any new performance car...

Even the Elantra N has a pop tune from factory.

Just a catback will get you burbles. I have had both MBRP and Borla, and it is more pronounced on the Borla... Even the occasional light pop. It's a natural byproduct of a turbocharged engine. When you let off the gas, spark is cut, so any fuel remaining in any cylinder will be ejected into the hot turbine, which will ignite it. Pop tunes make this more pronounced by leaving the injectors on longer or retarding spark longer to fill the cylinder with more fuel.

Bull. I've pretty much owned a performance car from every automaker between $40-90k in the last decade and none of them popped or banged. Not one.

The closest I've had is a 20' S5, which would burp on downshifts, if the car was in sport+ & dynamic.

Not saying none of them do, just that "pretty much any new performance car" is a huggggggely inaccurate stretcccchhhh. Like, not even remotely close to being accurate!

Come to think of it, the fastest cars on the market today don't even have exhaust systems.

Both of my previous AMG’s did it, my Focus RS did it, my ‘15 S4 did it…

Half the stuff that came through our shop did it.

Might be time for hearing aides?

At the rate you're going your next post is going to say "I've never heard a single car pop or bang in my entire life."

Nah, the last thing I want is to risk being able to hear shitty sounding Orville Redenbacher exhausts more than I already can.

15 S4 did it…

More bull.

Stock B8 S4 exhaust doesn't sound like cheap boy racer shit as you claim.

I want my Tesla to have pops and bangs. Wonder if any software update can do it…
