replace the 7507 standard bulbs
The Operators Manual that came with my car indicates,
that the bulbs you are referring to are in fact LEDs.
So here are a couple of pictures that may grab your interest:
The first two pictures (of a white and red Stinger) are from a video review made on Mallorca and are youtube screenshots.
The third and fourth picture are of my car, taken in the rain because that's what we have been getting here for days or weeks it seems.
Never mind the crappy look, what is of interest here are the two lights.
On close examination of the clear lenses of these lights, one discovers a number of small lenses formed in the larger lens.
These small lenses are of no consequence on Canadian (North American?) cars, that probably correspond with any array of 9 or 10 individual LEDs behind them, as in the European (German) Stingers in pictures 1 & 2 above.
If you look at the first picture, it would appear that the Europen cars also appear to have a black mask to delineate the individual LEDs in the array and emphasize the "punctuated" look.
Which I was after.
To duplicate the look, I created a mask with cutouts positioned in line with the aforementioned small lenses. I had some black self-adhesive vinyl lying around and went at it as proof of concept.
I am going to get some high-gloss material and refine the look, maybe even some carbon material. For the two masks, a piece of 4 x 10 inches is all that's needed.
It's a bit of work, but I think well worth it. If I get tired of it, it's easily changed.
Any markings, measurements were made with
overlays and without touching the plastic surface of lights directly.
Cuttings were made far away from the car.
