Has anyone attched ring connectors from a pigtail to the under hood charging points in the car, in the passenger side fuse box?

The negative post on the fender is clear. The raised positive tab in the fuse box is also clear, but it's not obvious to me which bolt to attach the positive ring to in the fuse box. There are several bolt heads that seem connected to the positive tab via the plate it's attached to, but I'm reluctant to just hook one up lest I send current someplace it shouldn't go (which would end up being a very bad day).

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone might have done this, and can share exactly where they attached the positive ring connector.

Thank you!

I'm sure you'll be fine with any of the bolt heads on the positive tab. I picked the easiest one to get at.
Battery maintainers only produce one amp or so.

Why would you not connect the charger straight to the battery were it's most efficient?

I normally would and always have in all my other cars. But with the Stinger, the battery is in the trunk. It's more of a pain to access the pigtail back there, and I'd have to run a long extension cord from the trunk to the nearest power outlet in my garage.

I'm hoping that as @hayagix said, since a trickle charger only puts out about an amp, the reduced efficiency from connecting it in the engine compartment and longer cable runs won't matter.

Thank you! I'm assuming that it works fine for you? Is able to charge the battery without frying the fuse box or electrical system, or setting fire to the garage?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I have the Noco charger and Noco extension cable. Works great from the trunk’s batter location. I don’t have to keep popping the hood just to charge.

No problems here. I have an old Ctek and two Optimate maintainers I can choose from. A low (stinger) battery can take 2 or 3 days to achieve full charge.

Hi again everyone... reviving an old thread.

Has anyone connected the pigtails for a trickle charger to connections in the engine compartment? I've been going back and forth on this. The Kia dealer isn't willing to connect it for me (because it isn't 'factory equipment'). I've been connecting a battery charger to the prong in the fusebox and ground bolt in the engine compartment, and was planning to also connect the pigtail to the ground bolt, and one of the positive bolts in the fusebox.

But, is it OK to push current the distance from the fusebox to the battery in the trunk? The positive prong and and negative ground bolt seem to be intended for jump starts, a short run to the starter motor. I didn't have any problems when I tried connecting the clamps of a trickle charger to those points, but don't want to fry anything in the long term.

If anyone has connected a pigtail to a positive bolt in the fusebox, I would greatly appreciate seeing a pic of where you hooked it up.

Thank you!
