Most of those kits you swing the door out like normal, then lift it up, right? The ones I've seen don't actually scissor upward.
 
Bold enough? Only if the kit works on the rear doors, too. Four doors, all scissored open, would be quite the sight.

I've never been a big fan of the scissor door thing unless it's factory and even then. It just looks odd to me. Now the flip up DeLorean style... ehhh, not too much of a fan of that either. :confused:

Because if you haven't seen/used one in person, it's likely to be a disappointment compared to what you expect and have seen in factory exotics.

These retrofit kits typically require you to swing the doors out like normal ones (and pretty far), before lifting them up. So they don't have the ergonomics or space saving that real ones do. And the weight involved means once the shocks develop even a slow leak, the doors fall down.
