Pretty disappointed with the QC on these to be honest, especially seeing the cost of them.

Firstly the air filters don’t fit through the holes with that useless piece of auto trim, one didn't fit through the hole with the trim removed (well fell off), i had to use a sharp exacto knife to make the holes larger, something i never should of had to do. Once i made the holes large enough for the filters to actually go through the holes the trim didn’t stay on at all due to the thickness of the plastic now, they didn't stay on from the outset, surely test the fit and glue the trim on then test the fit again, simple quality control, needless to say no trim and a gap around my filters. I will have to look for some better trim with a deeper slit so that it will actually fit the holes and then glue it.

The drivers side tube to me is to long as it pushes the hose clap into the hole the filter goes through and the filter is jammed against a part on the car.

“You may need to loosen the clamp at blow off valve to prevent tube from kinking.”
No I had to cut that hose as it was bent and kinked to almost closed once connected, had to take 20mm off. If i have to go back to stock at some stage that hose i had to cut wont be long enough.

These things definitely need work to get anywhere near “Fits Kia Stinger” claim, yeah it fits once i had done everything i just said above. Did i just get a bad batch? Anyone else have these issues?

For the price and what i had to do and the end result i couldn't promote these to anyone.

Had to cut my passenger BO tubing. I dislike the intakes also but they work. I just can’t bring myself to spend another 400 on intakes.

I went with the AEM intakes last spring and during install I had to cut a little off of the bov tubing/hose for proper fitment. It’s common for most of the intake installs.
As for fitment, I originally was going to go with the AP intakes but read about owners having trouble closing their hood with them..

A lot of minor figment issues. Plus mine was early so no water drain hole. Filters occasionally come off the plastic tube. Doesn’t matter how tight/loose I tighten the clamp.

the look oem but should have bought JT (although figment is an issue with them apparently too).

I contacted them a few times... they played dumb and gave me worthless advise. Didn’t address the issues.

Well all I can add is.......Injen....great fit, great look, great sound.:geek:

I've installed the K&N Typhoon intakes twice, now, and it fits relatively well. The only things that were needed (in terms of fitment) were trimming of BOV hoses.

I, of course, went through and insulated the whole box and added additional weather stripping to seal the top with the hood and swapped the filters for bigger, dry filters, but I would recommend the K&N if someone had the money. They claim very low gains, but I think the gains are similar across the board on intakes at this point. The ECU doesn't adjust right away, so if K&N slapped the intake on while it was on a dyno so they could just compare back-to-back with stock, it wouldn't actually reflect longer term gains anyway. Though, testing it that way is usually the best anyway to consider changes in temperature/weather if days or weeks have passed since swapping the intake, lol

It's pretty poor that these expensive intake kits require modification. It sounds like you spent more time installing and modifying your Agency Power intake than I did with my DIY ones. That shouldn't be the case when one costs ~$500 and the other ~$100.

Exactly, for $990 Australian dollars I would expect perfect fit and not have to do anything, if i wanted to cut hoses and adjust shit i would of bought the parts off the shelf and done the DIY thing.

How do you feel about not having heat sheilds. How are IATs
So far not a problem. IAT’s are running around 60 on my last couple pulls. Maybe my VT helps in this area? However I am contemplating some sort of diy heat shielding.....just because.

AP design is also not so great.

I recommend Injen, or AEM if shields are needed.
But I personally think people tend to be too obsessed about heat shields. The location of the filters (especially Injen) make it easy for cool air to be sucked. It will maybe make a difference when sitting in lane for an extended period of time but in that case even heat shields won't be of much help.

Sorry to hear that. Mine seem to be firmly installed And aren’t budging.

Let me know what you come up with. Looks like a sheild in line with strut braces would work.

Just purchased some soft rubber trim seal from the local rubber store with some give in it as opposed to the vinyl shit that came with them and now the tubes look sweet, neat and sealed... how they should of come for the company.

I may of got a bad batch, some slack guy in the factory :) They are at the point i would of expected them now though after some customizing
they certainly look neat and once the bonnet is closed they seal up nicely.

Yes they need a lip on the actual tube, you tighten the clamp and all it does is squeeze the tube backwards and out of the filter, with a lip it would stop that totally. Perhaps the makers will read here and get some notes and perfect them a little more.

One thing I did find that helps is really wiping the contact points down with isopropyl alcohol really well, and pushing the filters as far on the tube as possible (well past the lip) has helped. I have marks I've made marks on the screw to know the sweet spot on the clamps.

still a pain.

...and why can’t you get an exchange on these? Why settle for subpar...these are $528 a pair. Don’t alter them, get a new set!

My AP intakes installed with minimum trouble. Trim the driver side valve hose to straighten it out . Took only few seconds. They look nice!!

I contacted them a month ago about fitment issues. They said they just got a new batch, I guess the new batch is worse than the old batch. I wouldnt mind having to make adjustments if it wasn't $500 I would get one if it was around the price of AEM. I am still torn between AEM & Injen. Heat sheild or no heat sheild that is the question.
