Adaptive Cruise Control?

Nooooo...I was hoping the Auto Stop/Start would be off by default or at least stay off once switched off. My BMW is like that, I turned it off the first time I started the car and it stay off ever since. Maybe there's a setting buried in the menus?
Not sure how old your BMW was ... but at least in the EU to meet regulation on Co2 the start/stop must be defaulted into ON (the same reason your car will default to comfort or Eco, and not stay in sport/custom). Therefore if your BMW was only a year old, then I'm sure that wasn't legal, or maybe a US version only, but if older then I'm sure it could have done that.

Yeah, it's a 2014, so that must be why it can be off by default. Didn't know this was a regulation now. Oh well.

Well the actual S/S isn't regulation, but if a company claims the emissions of the car does "X" ... then the default must be X, it cannot be Y that you can change back to X.

Thank VW for this!

Hello Fellow Stinger Enthusiasts! I have had my GT AWD Limited (GT2 for my American friends) a little more than a month and I love everything about it. My question for anyone is: while the adaptive cruise control is a nice piece of added comfort & technology (inclusive of the "quirks" noted earlier) what about the brake lights??? It occurred to me during my commute home this evening while using the system...when the vehicle is applying the brakes automatically do the brake lights illuminate as well to warn drivers be me??

Yes they have to. You’ll notice when the car lets off and you’ll feel when it’s braking. The brake lights must come on at any point the brakes are applied.

I can't verify they do, but others have. My only warning is that it will cook your brakes on a lengthy downhill, so be aware!
