• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Recently purchased a Kia Stinger, waited 7 months for it.

My car is ceramic coated, what car wash should i be using or rather what does everyone else use on there cars? I am use to wash, wax, polish but ive done some reading and apparently i need to find a pH neutral car wash. Even if you want to list all the products you use to wash your car (windows/tyres/interior)

Can anyone suggest a good decent high quality car cover? My stinger is always garaged but i want something that is dust and water proof with air vents and something that wont scratch the paint pulling it off and on the car.

no brand new car cover is going to scratch a clean car. so inside a garage a bog standard cover would suffice to keep it dust-free. the reverse is also true no high end cover is going to save from scratching if you put a soiled cover on a dirty car obviously. I would never cover a car unless it was going to sit for weeks or months.

hand washing is the only way. use good micro fiber or 100 percent cotton terrycloth. the fanatical standard is pretty much established by griot's garage products those guys are nuts. if that is your road then go with them.

I used Polyglaze by Selleys till they deleted it. Now using Armorall. Not happy but best of a bad bunch. Not wash and wax just wash. Kitten wash has too much salt. Kitten will wreck any rubbers on light surrounds etc . But Kitten No1 is best polish for any blemishes. I only use a chamois don't use a sponge or brush.. Soap the car and rinse the car off with same Chammy after you flush it of soap. One section at a time. Comes up new. Done it for years. Only use a brush underneath and on wheels. Melbourne owner.

I've been pretty happy with the Adams products. Pretty much all their car wash shampoos are ph neutral.

Not sure which ceramic coating you got, but some recommend using a specific spray every now and then to keep coating performing at its best. They usually recommend you use the same formulation. Reach out to whoever did your ceramic coating to see if they have any products they recommend you use for maintenance.

Edit:
Just realized this was the "Stingers Down Under" group. Not sure if Adams ships to Aus or not, but I would imagine you guys have locally made products that are good for taking care of a ceramic coated vehicle.

I have no experience with ceramic coatings, but I've found autoglym products brilliant and not obscenely expensive or hard to find in Australia. I find its easy to find on sale at one of the major retailers each time im getting low I just do a quick shop around.

They sell a ceramic coating so I imagine their washes would be safe but best to check against your exact coating.

I reached out to the people who did my ceramic coating it was the MotorOne group. They have suggested i use there shampoo for the car which is called Hydro+ Shampoo.

I am so scared about getting my stinger wet that i dont even want to wash it!

I appreciate all the answers and information.

My car is coated as well. I use CARPRO Reset
and sometimes add P & S PROFESSIONAL DETAIL PRODUCTS - Bead Maker as a booster. Alot of ppl with coatings usually just use a foam cannon and high pressure water gun. Mostly everything will come off.

Definitely use a pH neutral car wash. Anything else is going to stick to your coating and you’ll attract more dust.

So i came to the conclusion i will more than likely be buying the Bowden's Own Snow Job prewash with the Hydro+ Shampoo as bucket wash. Hopefully it will do the job i need it to and not ruin the ceramic protection!

I've used the Bowdens Snow job for 5 years because i was told it was good. My car has been Ceramic coated twice in 5 years and i can say the Bowdens snow job was hopeless. Itdidn't remove any of the dry dust or dirt. I tried leaving in on for 5 minutes, 10 minutes etc. No difference.

After the first wash Bowdens definitely got rid of all the dust / loose dirt but i did have to scrub a lot more than i thought i would to actually get the car clean. My impression was with ceramic coated cars the dirt and grime would just wash off with the pre wash but this definitely wasnt the case with Bowdens.

Once i bucket washed the car with the Hydro+ Shampoo it was looking mickey mouse. I did have to use a little tar off near the back wheels though as the prewash and bucket wash wasnt enough to remove the tar/black scuff marks from the road.
