So I need to replace my stock Michelin tires on my stock 19s

I've always thought that 225 on stock front wheels were too narrow. It looks like the tires are stretched out.

Has anyone replace the front stock tires with 235/40/19 on stick front wheels?
It seems like the Michelin sport 4s comes in that size.

Or will I run into running when turning the wheels with the 235 up in the front?

Thanks

225, 235 is the ideal tire size for an 8" wide wheel. You shouldn't have any trouble at all clearance-wise. But a wider front tire will increase the tendency to oversteer, which my experience showed is what the stock Stinger does when pushed hard enough; so, you'll be getting more oversteer with a wider 235.

Thanks Merlin!

So the wider front tire will have better trip and turn-in which will result in more oversteer?

Yes my experience is that the Stinger does show a little oversteer as well.

If anything jump the rear up a size or 2 imo

Oversteer is when the back end starts coming around, like a drift.

thank you :)

Why not both?
When my tires go I want to replace them also with something bigger and wider. I also want all the tires to be the same size or slightly bigger in the back--I have AWD. Does this affect the AWD system computers at all changing the size of the tire--there is a lot of room in the wheel well and I might go 45 or 50 series--can not stand the skinny tires it has no room to protect the rim from anything on top of mild handling.

remind me please what "oversteer" is??
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front end, oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear end, horsepower is how hard you hit the wall, and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Also: "Understeer gets you around the track slightly slower. Oversteer gets you off the track much quicker."

@adam1991 , three posts above yours. :D:P ^^^

I'm running BFG COMP 2 AS+ on mine and the fronts don't have that stretched look like with the Michelin's and the ride isn't as harsh.
