Is anyone running a 225 wide tire on the GT and up trims rear wheel that is 8.5" wide? I plan on using the OEM staggered 19" wheels as my winter wheels and not exactly sure if a 225 wide tire can safely be used on the rear wheel.

What does the manufacturer of the tire in question say is a supported rim size for that particular tire?

For example, the 225/40/19 Michelin Pilot 4S can be used on a 7.5-9" rim width.

It varies from tire to tire, even amongst the same manufacturers..

I think a 225 will look stretched on a 8.5" wide wheel.

While I don't have a Stinger (yet), on my G8 GXP, I currently have a 255 sized tire on an 8" wide wheel and it fits perfect IMO.

Check out tyrestretch.com to see pics of different tire sizes on different sized wheels.

Thanks for that hint. I found the specs of the tire and it does indeed say rim range of 7.5-9" width. Thanks

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I had Pilot Sport 225s on a 17x8.5 rim (my Subaru) and they definitely looked a little stretched.. These look similar.
