225/45R18 vs 235/45R18 vs 235/40R18

23 GT-Line AWD here. Stock rims that are 8" wide.

Looking at new DWS06+ tires, to match the load rating I'd need 235/45R18 or 235/40R18 in these. What's your recommendation?

Also bonus question: these vs the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4, which is quieter?

I would not do 235/40R18.

Go with either 235/45R18 or 245/40R18. I have several sets of both. In general, 235/45 will ride better, but 245/40 will have a bit sharper handling. The difference won't be huge. Really only noticeably when you drive them back to back. The characteristics of the tire you choose will have as much influence on ride and handling, if not more.

If this is your daily driver and you value comfort more than handling, go with 235/45.
