Has anyone else noticed the daytime running lights on the 2023's are different from the 2022s? Looks like KIA went back to the previous years design...

It would help if you included pictures of what you see as the differences. Maybe it's just the trim level you're looking at? I haven't seen any '23's in person yet to tell if the GT-Line or GT2 is different than the 2022. GT/GT1 are no longer offered for 2023, by the way, so maybe that's what you're noticing...

. . . the previous year was 2022.

And this is the right side headlight on my 2022 (GT-2)

1657042716203.png My local dealer posted this picture of a 2023 GT2. The 2022's had a upper and lower DRL (as in my avatar). I thought all 2022's, regardless of trim level, had the new DRL design.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
The headlights for the GT2s have always remained the same through both generations, it's only the lower trims that changed design during the mid-cycle refresh.
That is a detail that slipped by me and helps explain a lot. Thanks!

Yes, very happy this thread exists. I traded in my 22 for a 23 and have noticed that the drl. Instead of biend a nice solid neon like consistent white. The 23' has little bulbs if you would imaging I. The same design but you can see individual LEDs to form the drl.

Here are the headlights for the '22 GT Line and GT1.

The GT2's have always had these lights. All GT (3.3T) cars had these until '22

The older 18-21 4 cyl cars came with these

Those base model headlights are hideous. I haven't seen any of those in person. I've only seen the premium model or gt-line cars that have the same lights as my gt does.

Its amazing how that little detail makes such a huge visual difference between the base and gt trims.
That stands out WAY more than the wheels or the other exterior differences.

Are the shape and size of the lights as a whole piece the same in both generations?

I want to do a badge delete on a ‘23 front end bumper and put it on the ‘18 but only if it’s a direct match fit.

Hi, so has anyone actually put GT2 headlights on a GT-Line, at least since the 2022 refresh? For me, my Stinger has the same DRLs as what the GT2s now have, and I love them. I do not like the new straight line things they changed to for the 2022s...also hate the fact they removed the ambient lighting. Anyway, I am looking at trading in my 2018 Premium AWD and getting a 2023 GT-Line...but the headlight issue is really a sticking point. So I am looking to see if I could swap in the GT2 lights so I keep that same look. Additionally, would the whole auto-adjusting headlights thing work as well? That would be really nice to have as well. Hoping people reply here, otherwise I will create a new thread. Thanks!

I believe you can put the GT2 lights on the GT-Line as I think all the mounting is the same. Not sure about wiring harness(es) though. Also I doubt the DBL (auto adjusting / bending feature) would work as I believe there's more to it than just the lights. I'm not 100% positive though. Pretty sure there are others who would know better than I would.

I have always got a lot of attention from my 22 GT-Line headligh DRLs it's funny how you notice people watching your headlights among other things

Thanks...so does anyone else out there know the answer on this? Anyone done it? I would just get a gt2 but over 850/month plus the lower fuel mileage is a bit of a tough pill to swallow.

I'm about to swap GT2 headlights into my '23 GT-Line. Since both are LEDs, it is a straight plug and play. You can even swap any of the LED headlights into a base model with halogen bulbs, but you do need DC buck converters for the headlight power lines and shunt resistors for the turn signal lines. The GT-Line headlights will get passed down to our '19 base model.

As for the DBL and AFS, it's not worth what it takes to get the whole system working. I'm fine with just manual adjustment and leave the aim fixed.

oh cool, thanks for the reply...someone actually doing it! Please take pics/post up how it goes. Yes, I have been reading that the self-leveling system is a pain. I am honestly starting to look back inthe Mazda 3SGT...has all the stuff the Stinger does, but including the adaptive headlights, and is only 5hp less than the Stinger, but weighs much less, and has 320 for torque...faster than my current Stinger in the 0-60...but does not look nearly as sharp.
