2019 Kia Stinger: 2.0L Engine, More Affordable

This link as well as another Stinger forum says that KIA has announced the 2019 model year Stingers will start late this summer. I believe the link is for a Canadian website and it says that the 2.0t will be available for the Canadian market. But they will still only get the AWD versions.

Hopefully we will hear something soon that some or all of the missing features will finally be on the US Stingers. Stay tuned...

They now have the 2019 version on their Korean website. Don't have the translation working on the work machine but it doesn't seem like there is anything different with the vehicle.

Wait, looks like the 2.0T might be getting some stuff from the GT, minor stuff according to this site: Yonhap News Agency

Very interesting! I wonder if it's a similar exhaust to the diesel setup. More interesting is the GT-Line in every other country has the styling of the GT Stingers here in the US. I may be jumping the gun here but maybe 2019 may see a "special edition" in the US of the 2.0T having GT styling?? One could dream!

Haha! I bet this makes your day. You've been asking about a 2.0T with GT body styling since day one

Yonhap News Agency said:
In the 12 months to April, Kia sold 7,823 Stingers in the domestic market and exported 28,281 vehicles, mainly to the United States and Europe, the company said.

If anyone is still wondering how many Stingers have sold worldwide there ya go.

Looks like they put the heating element in the leg bolsters on the front seats and have heat on the seat bottom. I guess that some heat is better than none back there.

I noticed a manual transmission. Has the Korean stinger 2.0 always offer a manual line the g70

Under the build on Korean site check mark for manual or auto trans for 2.0. No pictures but it did freeze up on me

I wouldn’t be surprised if a manual was available in future 2.0T Stingers. They may at least make it available in some markets but not others.

The 2019 model are being produced now in JUNE. and are scheduled to be delivered end of JULY, early AUGUST. I ordered the 2019 from my local dealer early MAY with a down payment, and they confirmed that it's going to be produced in JUNE and Delivered end of JULY.

and for those asking for the deference, there are no deferences in (interior, exterior or engine) what so ever between both model years 2018 and 2019. However some dealers will demand certain features that were not available in their region to be added.

But on the other hand, I've found on KIA Korean website, for the 2019 there is a package called "TUON" its like a sport look package, they change to Real Carbon & Alcantara Package, Accessory Package, BBS Wheel. i have attached pictures for your reference.

@Salman, very cool! Thanks for the update. I'm hoping, we here in the US, get to finally see those missing features as well as get the color combos that are available almost everywhere else for the 2019 MY.

Alcántara, nice aesthetic feature, but impractical and useless....personal experience in my former 2016 Nissan Maxima SR... IMHO
I hope the BBS wheels are lighter than the OEM ones.

OEM 14KG
BBS 11KG
but the offset is OEM Offset so it doesnt look as good as standard BBS CI-R wheels.

Oh Good to hear. Well maybe 1 of the 4 horrible dealers in my area will get a RWD Gt2 so I can test drive or any GT RWD for that matter. For a vehicle that I was so hyped up on That I couldn't sleep the dealers and the quality issues sure have brought me down.

I with you on your last sentence. When the car came out, I was out of my mind excited. But the quality issues have brought me down as well. The first year a car comes out (from any manufacturer) is always tough as they work out the kinks of a new model. Hopefully the 2019's will have most or hopefully all the bugs worked out. If not, I'm going to have a hard time giving a dealership 53 large for a car with paint, warped brake rotors, broken fuel pump, worn seat cushion side bolster and inoperative under seat subwoofers issues. I've even read a few complaints about excessive body flexing when driving over different level pavement diagonally like when you're turning into a driveway from the road and there's a bit of an upslope into the driveway. The good thing is that these problems are not consistent with all models and that most people seem very pleased with their new Stingers so hopefully all or most of these issues will be cleared up in 2019. Again, the first year is always rough.
