If you go square setup nothing to worry about. If you go staggered, you need to make sure you get revs per mile as close as possible front and back. I’m currently running 235/35/20 on front and 275/30/20 on the rear. However, I am thinking of going to 245/35/20 and 285/30/20 as there are others running that setup. I’m AWD and lowered.
Tire size calculator is a good place to check/compare the sizes.
I want to correct some of the misinformation in this thread regarding handling aspects of staggered versus squared.
A Staggered setup will give you more stability and in some cases increase understeer. Typically on a performance car, the car company will use this setup to help drivers that don't have as much skill so that if they do end up going into an oversteer situation that turns into a slide, they can more easily correct it. This is of particular interest for anyone that cares more about straight line stability such as drag racing and high speed runs. This is partially why drag cars go with skinny front tires (other than the obvious benefit of less drag/weight). You'll also see a lot of high horsepower setups like Corvette, Viper and F1 Cars run staggered not necessarily for outright handling but to provide some balance to their inherently rear-happy characteristics...some of these cars would be significantly harder to drive fast around a track with a squared setup.
A Squared setup gives the front wheels as much rubber to grip the ground as the rears. This typically increases steering feel and turn-in (the sensation of the car actually beginning to turn when you turn the wheel). Some would call this an increase in agility. It is particularly important for fast-twitch driving in events like Autocross or tighter Road Courses. You will see most legit Autocross competitors running squared setups even if they could've gone with bigger rear rubber because the toss-ability is so much greater with a squared setup. You'll also see most cars from the factory that have a track optional setup will usually have a Squared tire setup...for instance Mustang GT Performance Pack 2, Camaro 1LE, Camaro Z/28, Hellcat Widebody, etc.
