I just got my Canadian spec GT Limited.

Came with some 18" squared wheels.

I want to get some 20" wheels for summer. Thinking about the niche Misano wheels 20x9 +35. Or maybe a staggered 20x9 +35 and 20x10 +40

What tires should I get for these?

Are there any drawbacks from going square?

Round ones tend to roll a lot easier:laugh::rofl:

That's quite a jump in wheel size from your OE setup. Your tire aspect ratio is going to be very "rubber band tires" in order to maintain the same OD within less than one percent difference.

If I were going to change wheel sizes deliberately, I'd go square. The staggered arrangement is, as far as I understand, all about enhanced handling. It reduces understeer. Do I have that right? Anyway, it is more theoretical and subjective than real, imho; because 99% of drivers will either never push the car hard enough to test/tell the difference between square and staggered, or couldn't tell the difference even if they did push hard enough.

The main reason why Kia offered a staggered setup is because wider in the back makes the car look cool. But you lose half your treadlife warranty if you have a staggered setup. So why deliberately do that? Well, in my case, I didn't want to change the way the car was designed. I'm conservative that way. But I did allow a half inch wider in front and a whole inch wider in the rear, while keeping to 19" rims, when I bought my "summer" rims. So, I guess I'm just talking about options here: and I've already decided for myself.

But if I were going to 20", I'd go square, and wider. Make sense out of that! :P

Sorry .it came with the stock 19" staggered set and a set of 18" squared winter tires .

In Canada? I thought that all Stingers came AWD on 18s in Canada. Doesn't matter. If you're swapping out for 20s the only thing that really matters is offset and OD. The rest is personal preference. There is no right or wrong way.

Ya AWD . Came with the staggered 19" 225/40/19 + 255/35/19and a set of aftermarket 18" squared 225/45/18

Drive the car for a bit on the 19s and think about how comfortable it is , 20s will be rougher and more prone to damage via pot holes etc . I know in my case I would not consider it , I'm not a fan of the oem wheels so a change up there could improve the look . Personally spending that much $$ on a 20" set up might be better spent on lots of more benefitial mods

I swapped on the 19's and it seems very comfortable . I'm lowering the car next week and just think 20's would look really good .

Speedo will not be terribly off, maybe .5 miles or less, depending on the size tire you choose.

It all depends on your preference. If you are going for looks then get 20's with the square set up. That way you can rotate your tires.

If you are going for performance and looks then get some lightweight 19's with a staggered set up. I currently have 245/35/19 up front and 275/30/19 on rear.

Its all about what you prefer and the route you are trying to go with the car.

Yea. This car is more of a daily driver/ company car for me. So I'm not gonna go crazy. I've had really fast cars before and those aren't in the cards for me anymore.

Intakes, JB4, eibach springs, and wheels. That's all I can see me doing on this car.

That being said. If I was looking for a track or drag car..... I wouldn't pick a stinger. This car is a nice value cruiser IMO.

ok I agree.

If that is the case then go 20's with square set up. That's my recommendation.

Share pics when you do.

This guy is 20x9 + 38 255/35/20 squared. I like how it's not too aggressive. I just trying to find out how much my speedo will be off and if I can live with that.

Don't lose sleep over the speedo. It will be minimal maybe somewhere around 1-2 mph.
