let me start by saying I have a 2018 GT1 with 120k miles. So I’m really trying to decide if the cost for repair is worth it.

It started a few month ago sitting in traffic and then I noticed again sitting in a drive through. Now it’s happening more and more. The car will overheat (with crazy warning alert). I assume the thermostat is getting stuck/unstuck because it seems the fan finally kicks on and it cools down.

Also, the fan never really used to run when in shut the car off but now it seems to run every time.

Second issue: or maybe they’re related? I have no heat at idle/low speeds. But it comes on over ~30mph.

Could they be related or am I looking at two major repair bills?

Most likely related. Sounds like you're low on coolant. Have you checked the overflow to see if it's between the two lines? Make sure you check it when your car is completely cold (like first thing in the morning if you've been driving).

Agree with bfglitch. Sounds like a classic case of low coolant.
I had this same issue on several cars that had a lot of miles on them, and it was the radiator that had gone bad in each instance.

Agree with the others.... sounds like your low on coolant (only check/fill when the engine is COLD).

Thanks again for everyone’sinput. I was low on coolant and it does seem to have resolved the overheating issue. However, I’m still not getting any heat at idle, even though the engine is warm.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

You have air pockets in the system. You need to bleed it.

What Ohiocruiser said is most likely the case, especially if you let the overflow/expansion reservoir go empty. You'll have to keep checking it after driving it. It'll slowly "burp" the air pockets out. These cars are a pain to get the air pockets out. Even the dealerships don't always get it right.
