0W-20 oil

I have a 22 GT-LINE. I live in southwest Florida. Is it okay to use 0W-20 oil instead of 0W-30??

Being in a hot(ter) climate, I'd actually consider 5w30.

I wouldnt go with a higher flow rate oil, use what the manufacturer suggests.
The engine is designed for the suggested oil...why would you want to go to a different grade?

The only oil recommended is 0W30 for the GT-line in the 2022 manual. That's what I'd use.

Viscosity is different even between available 0W-30 oils. For example between Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30 and Mobil 1 ESP LV (low viscosity) 0W-30.
The Kinematic Viscosity @ 100 degrees C for ESP is 12.2 mm2/s while for ESP LV it is 9.7 mm2/s. That's a pretty significant difference and it will translate into lower fuel consumption for the LV. It may also mean increased wear.

Check the full specs of your recommended oil and find something similar. I would NOT go for 0W-20 oil if the recommended one is 0W-30.

Exactly. The OP says they have a 2022 GT line, and the manual (specifically 2022 US manual which I looked at) says to use 0w30 only.

NO. Stick with the 0w-30. It provided excellent fuel economy and can handle higher temperatures and stress.

I'm running Castrol Edge 5w30 in my 2.5T right now. Why Castrol Edge?! Because that was on sale on Amazon for cheap at the time. Before that, it was Mobil 1 0w40. Before that... I forgot. Yeah... I snipped the "DO NOT REMOVE" label off my brand new pillows too. Some of us live life dangerously.

FWIW, looking at Castrol's own data sheets, Edge 5w30 has lower viscosity at -35C than their Edge 0w30. Go Figure. Pretty much pointless for me anyhow. Around my neck of the woods, seeing -35C is about as likely as Yoko Ono winning a Grammy.
