My new intakes from AEM arrived today and I installed them as soon as they arrived. I was able to uninstall all of the OEM parts in just under an hour on my own. I then took about an hour and a half to install the new stuff. Mind you I never do any of my own work because I usually either don't have the tools, help, or know how to be messing around under the hood. I had swapped the intake on 2 cars previously so I figured I could handle this one. Someone who is more comfortable under the hood could probably have done it much faster.

Install notes:

1. The directions said to disconnect hoses first and take the filter housing out last. I ended up finding it easier to remove the filter housing first and then work the hoses loose from there. The biggest reason for this was I couldn't fit my hands in the places they needed to go. (a specific tool may have made this easier but I don't know what it might have been and I didn't have it, lol) I was using a vice grip to move the clamps.

2. I left the hoses connected to the BOV's at first and then later realized it would be easier if they were fully removed. I also had to trim the length of the hoses to fit with the new tubing. I left the other hoses alone and did not have to trim anything else.

3. On the driver side, there are 4 screws that will hold down the new shroud. 2 bolt to the frame and the other 2 bolt to the filter adapter (part that directly connects to the air filters). The bolt that it closest to the front of the vehicle was a MAJOR pain as something is in the way. I'm not exactly sure what was hindering me other than it was thin silver, and not flexible. Luckily someone with more nimble, and less tired fingers than mine came along and got it seated.

4. Overall the install was very straight forward and the provided directions gave me all I needed to get everything in place without having to go back and do something over. Granted that will depend on how much you read the directions if you have to go back and fix something. ;)

Driving impressions:

At first startup, it sounded like a jet was about to take off, but I imagine that was because of a cold start, and I imagine it will do that on every cold start. It calms down after a few seconds and then you can't hear anything different at idle. On my first drive I honestly heard more than I expected. The "whoosh" sound is quite noticeable, but not in a bad way (to my ears at least). The whip sound you get when abruptly letting off the gas is equally noisy, but to me that's the best sound of all. As many have stated, you will hear nothing if you are just casual cruising, but if you get your foot into it, you will hear what you paid for.

I took the wife for a ride after my first run to get her stamp of approval. She could care less but got the biggest kick out of watching my face and the stupid grin I had every time I purposely got on it just to make noise. All that really matters here is she didn't veto it, yay!

I recently installed a carbon ceramic brake rotor setup from Jisu Sports as part of my ongoing effort to build what I consider the ultimate Stinger GTS. I’ve been driving on just the front CCB for the last couple months and just got the rears fitted. For context, I’ve previously run the Fella setup on this car, and before that EBC two-piece front rotors. Both of those setups were solid and performed well, good bite, good heat management, and overall a noticeable upgrade over OEM. That said, this carbon ceramic setup is on a completely different level.

Beyond just the raw stopping power, the biggest improvement is in vehicle dynamics. The reduction in unsprung and rotational mass is immediately apparent. Turn-in is sharper, front-end response is quicker, and the car feels way more composed under hard braking and trail braking. With less rotating mass at each corner, the suspension can do its job more effectively, improving mid-corner stability and overall chassis control. Pedal feel remains so much more consistent even after repeated heavy braking, and brake fade is essentially nonexistent, and confidence in high-speed braking zones is significantly improved. There’s also a subtle but real benefit to acceleration due to reduced rotational inertia, no numbers but you can definitely feel it.

One bonus that matters more than I expected: THEY DON’T RUST. Surface rust on iron rotors has been a long-standing pet peeve of mine across multiple vehicles, and it’s refreshing to have a setup that stays clean and consistent without the usual corrosion issues. So this wasn’t a cosmetic upgrade just it fundamentally changed how the car behaves. The focus of this build has always been balance, control, and repeatable performance, not just horsepower numbers. This setup feels like a major step toward the GTS the platform always deserved.

Good evening everyone, got a check engine light on my 2022 gt2 code "P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2." I understand that there is a total of 4 O'2 sensors with 2 being on each side, I was curious if anyone else has gotten this code and happened to know which sensor I need/which side its on/before or after. thank you for looking.

Anyone else have oil leaking from this location?

Went to do an oil change today, and notice oil dripping on the steering rack motor. seems to be either coming out of the top of the oil filter housing near the crank and or from where the oil cooler attaches to the filter housing.

Anyone else have this issue?

Car is a 2022 GT2 with 72,000 miles

I just got a 2018 gt2 with the 3.3tt and it’s awd. I got the car with a blown motor and I’m now in the market for a motor lol. When I was looking I found that the awd motors are a lot harder to find and cost about 2k more. From my understanding the long blocks are the same. So in that case can I just buy a motor that came out of a rwd and put it in my awd without modifications? Thanks in advance!

I will try my best to explain this with detail.

I don’t know if this is just my car or a problem within a lot of stingers. When I am driving in automatic, on any mode, my car downshifts harshly at times. When I’m braking, as well as when I’m letting it coast to a stop. 7 times out of 10, the downshifts jerk my body forward a little bit, especially when then car is going from 3rd to 2nd gear, 2nd to 1st gear. At first I was thinking it could probably be torque, but it feels so different than downshifting with the paddle shifters.

When I’m controlling the gears and using the paddle shifters, I feel like body jerk can be normal depending on what the rpm’s jump to after a downshift, and I have no issues.

I have no indication on what this could possibly be. Or maybe I just don’t understand my own car. If anyone has heard of this, please point me in the right direction.

Hey guys have around 100,000 miles on my 18 stinger gt. Recently, it seems like i can feel literally everything on the road, my car shakes over bumps, weather its small cracks or just a cm difference in pavement i feel it and its terrible.

Thinkimg about going to my mechanic to replace struts and shocks, Curious to those who did it, did it increase your ride quality and how much do you think id be looking at.

Good day,

I'm considering picking up an 11mode exhaust controller for my MBRP active exhaust.

They make this disclaimer on the product page:

Please note: this is for the 3 pin connector model. If you have an actuator with the 4 pin connector, please message us.

Can someone let me know what is most likely for a '23 GT limited? I will check it out for myself when I can but seeking a quick answer for now.

I saw 2 yesterday which made me chuckle.

On the back of an AMG CLA45 - “AMGOMG”

And on the back of a Toyota Hilux - “HIRUX’

I guess the Hilux could potentially offend some people but I thought it was funny. Bit surprised they let it through TBH.
