Does it require HKS plugs?

Not sure if your questions is directed to me, The JB4 would require at least regapping the stock plugs, recommended to put new Densos or HKS and gapped to .022 to .024.

No, they recommend Desno Iridium IKH24 #5436 plugs for $48. Great specs and same heat range as the M40IL for 1/3 the cost.

Sorry I was talking about the Uncle chip Pro.

I follow these guys in FB too... Huge results from their test vehicle.

Just saw that on FB as well.

Interesting numbers!!

Factor in a 15% driveline loss and you're looking at 500 crank HP and 530 Ft Lbs!!

I wonder if these numbers were achieved with full K&N intakes or just drop-in filters?

Does it require HKS plugs?

The LAP 3 results are with HKS Plugs, Intakes and Downpipes.

Good to know and thats why their HP numbers seemed a little high. That helps puts things into perspective because if you take the extra 30-40Hp from intakes & DP into account then they are very similar to the other chips & tunes on the market.

Now they just need to get their torque numbers up so they can compare better with the competition. 460wtq vs 490wtq+

For those who saw it we had a really spirited back and forth discussion on the Facebook page yesterday, lol. I tried to keep it professional but they really made it difficult with personal insults and such.

The long and the short of it is that it from what I tell it seems like a decent tuning approach, similar to what we've done with the JB4, and light years ahead of their previous tuner and all other tuners like RaceChip, AFE, TMC, VR, Dinan, etc. But it does not appear as highly developed as the JB4 in terms of the software interface, features, and overall functionality. I guess that makes sense as we've been selling the JB4 since 2009 so there are tens of thousands of systems around the world. The JB4 platform is really battle tested. It appears LAP3 are still working out the details with it and are not willing to release tuning logs, an install guide, or any technical information it through which one could make any sort of objective analysis. From what I can gather it's going to cost around 2x the JB4 and be around 5x more difficult to install.

It's interesting they claim their latest dyno is 60whp at redline higher than their previous one, and from the limited data shown their AFR seems to now mirror the JB4 tuning fuel control. Their engineer already acknowledged he regularly reads our N54tech forum thread so I guess I can put 2 and 2 together. Don't worry though, we've got a lot of cool JB4 stuff in the works. I'll be a little more careful about posting the details publicly. ;)

It seems like someone is desperate, to the point he had to chime in another company's product post. If you have results to share, please do so on your own page. There is no need to chime on here as if your product is better, when we are clearly making more power with a much refined and smoother power band.

PROSS - LAP3 is the engineering team of the Oullim Spirra. We have been in the tuning business longer than your company has, and we have been engineering and manufacturing 500HP+ production Korean super car Spirra since 2006. The tuning ability, knowledge and experience are extremely important. We are not here to develop a product just to change boost and AFR like the current JB4 for the Stinger. Of course it requires a lot more to produce refined tuning results.

It must really threaten you, Terry. We've never seen this type of behavior from a business owner on a public forum. Looks like the light years ahead technology not being able to make the results we have been producing got you upset. Having extra interfaces and options on your app is clearly not helping you make more power nor refine the power band shown on your latest dyno results with fuel control tuning.

Welp, @LAP3 Tuning , now that Terry has motivated you to come back maybe now's a good time to follow-up with some of the questions/comments/concerns posted since you were last here?

Hi David,

Sorry to invade your space. I figured this was a dead thread, seeing at LAP3 is not an "authorized vendor" here, you have not posted here in some time, and customers were asking specifically about the JB4 here.

Since you asked I'm quite happy with the JB4 power performance so far (customers reporting 420whp+ & 500wtq+, on mostly stock cars), along with factory like smoothness and power delivery. Most importantly we've had some pretty impressive 1/4 mile times posted because as you know the dyno is just a tuning tool. But don't worry, you've stated many times you feel like you're the horsepower king, message received. So I'll just say, challenge accepted. :)

Well I can definitely say after reading both of your comments. I have no desire to purchase anything from someone like you. You invaded this thread that has no relation to your product only to birate another member and gloat about your status. I hope you retract your statement and apologize as I can't see your business lasting long with this attitude.

Some messages were erased.
I captured them because I expected this to happen.:ninja:

We are going to require HKS plugs to match the power output we are putting down.
There is no need to gap them tighter with the Pro-Tuner, so you can leave it at the standard HKS gap: 0.026-0.028. Just make sure to inspect plugs before installing them. :)
Through Pro-Tuner mapping, spark blowout or misfire with the gap stated above hasn't been an issue even at ~440whp. We found a few ways to make more power during the R&D result. We have 10 test cars on the road for extensive testing, even max speed testing as well. We have been focusing on improving the power band, and the dyno result speaks for itself. We are very close to wrapping everything up, so it will be available in the near future.

And yes, the LAP3 Pro-tuner also unlocks the speed limiter. This was awhile ago, but the max speed on the road should hit over 300kmh or 185mph with our latest mapping.

There is no need to gap them small with the Pro-Tuner, so you can leave it at 0.026-0.028.

Which heat range HKS spark plugs do you recommend with your tune, the M40IL or the M45IL?

M45IL is what we recommend for the best result, but if you live in the area where it deals with cold climate, M40IL will work as well.

The GT tops out at 185MPH?

Anyone looking to buy a gently used Stinger?...:poop:

Love that you are able to fine tune afr and timing with the pro tuner, but what about the factory torque limit curve? Seems like the gap between piggy back and direct ecu tunning is closing quickly, but I'd like to see if most of the drawbacks can be mitigated

Depends on the conditions I assume!
I have heard someone pushed it up to 196mph
