test fitting of 20 inchers

had the day off today, stole the stinger from the mrs while she was sleeping, and visited a new friends and his family.

he had posted on the forum that he needed a stinger to test fit 20's and i said sure. nice young man, very professional. also met his parents and his sister. they are all passionate people concerning rims and tires and they had never seen a stinger up close. here are all the photos from that test fittings, i have uploaded all the photos as a full image so as to show the rims, so let it load up. sorry if it takes a long time, but they are sharp looking rims.

the first set of rims are: fronts-255-35-20 on 9 inch wide rims
the backs are-285-30-20 on 10 1/2 inch rims
the last pic is the same rear size rim, but it wasn't drilled for a stinger bolt pattern, that was a customers rim for his ss that chris and his father thought would look awesome. you would definitely need drilled and slotted brakes for a rim like that.

here are some more pics. the last rim that is in the box was just delivered, that is similar to the first set of rims, but in a matte black color, hope the texture shows up in the pics. those are also nice. pretty much think rims 2 and 3 are the best for the yellow stinger while the first set would look awesome on the red or blue. panthera and that light ceramic color could go with any of these rims, but that is just my opinion.

just wanted to extend a warm thank you to @BESTWHEELDEALS.chris and his family. personally, i admit to purchasing all of my rims and tires from tirerack. there isn't any wrong with that, but, if i had known of a quality shop like theirs i would have purchased from them. sure, their selection on hand won't be what a company like tirerack has, but they can get what you need, but there is the benefit of the fact that chris and his dad were sitting there with equipment measuring how much room there was with the new rims to make sure that nothing hit or was binding. that is what sets a shop like chris's above everybody else. oh, and i forgot to post their contact info

ok, here is what chris just texted me. fronts are +35 and the rears are +42. am awaiting on the specs on how much room there is. chris and his father think that there might be enough room for 11-12 inch wide rims in the back and 10 inchers on the front. will add info when they finish the measurements

20 inch looks really nice.
Howevet with 20 inch rims you lose a little on acceleration and ride quality compared to 19 inch rims. I know few people who went 20s on their Stinger and went back to 19s after few weeks because of these reasons.

This 20 inch wheel / tire combination would also be workable on the Stinger with the correct offset wheels (and a wheel design that clears the Brembo brakes) if you don't want such a wide rear tire as the 285/30 used in this thread :

Front 20 x 8 or 8.5 inch wheel...............tire 245 35 20 ... tire diameter 26.77 inches
Rear 20 x 9 or 9.5 or 10 inch wheel ......tire 275 30 20 ... tire diameter 26.5 inches

Fully agree on the measurement. I'e chosen 20x8.5 all round. Offset +25. Tires tested 245/35/20 and although more than factory diameter by 3% it seemed all ok as long as I do not lower ride. That extra diameter hopefully will help to improve comfort a little. Have not received car yet so no pics for now.

What kind are in the last pic? The black ones that weren't mounted.

Maybe I can't read. What are the exact wheel size and offset on the yellow car in post #8? Assuming 20inch, but what else? That might be nicest combo I've seen.
