CPI Installation option for stock charge pipe...

Weird like we ordered from the same batch. I was going to measure voltage on pin 4 too but they shipped it and said they’d just test it themselves. Seems like im getting some output.

If make a e85 gauge does it sit at 0?
You are getting voltage at your pin #4? I have a digital meter that gives from 3-45v and it’s getting nada. I have my JB4 on the driver side of my vehicle and everything else on the pass, so I was thinking maybe extending the white wire and the voltage being only .5 that it might be causing an issue, but I’ve stuck the meter in the harness terminal for the white wire all along the line and it gets nothing.

Idk I never checked it, rained this entire week till today and left my fluke at work

I just got shipping confirmation from my replacement analyzer

They never shipped mine they expect me to ship mine back first. Maybe I’ll take a voltage reading.

I just put 13.5 gallons of e85 in (pump range is 50-83) and getting a sensor reading of e48
So I’m not sure that’s trust worthy.

Messing with my ek1 now.

Almost got the SXTH file for 150 with pops in sport only but I went with this one

After gotta figure out tcu

So I took some readings today with my fluke multimeter.

First off it’s very counterintuitive that the white wire with the pin for the jb4 is on what I’d consider the “input” harness with incoming switched power and a ground.

I got 12v at the analyzer, and the sensor. Ground is continuous thru all wiring. At the sensor harness white is 3.285volts, same reading on both sides of the harness for the analyzer but when open the jb4 box and remove the db25 connector and measure from pin 4 to ground in reading about a 1/3 of that voltage which makes sense why my gauge seems scaled down about 1/3 from the fuel it app.

I wire and build automated systems for a living and not sure how all 3 wires have continuity thru all harnesses but I’m losing a 2/3 of that 3.285 volt output only at the jb4 side while unplugged from the box with car in ACC Direct from pin to grounding location

I def don’t build auto systems for a living, but I know enough that if I don’t have anything directly from the fuse box and into the initial harness where the white is, something is not right. So I’m waiting on the new DAC and I will definitely update you because I re-ran all of the wires from my car today and made sure everything is completely on the up and up. So when the replacement comes, I should be able to just, plug it in and then turn my car on and get a reading.

It appears I read 3.285vokts everywhere but pin 4 to ground with everything plugged in and car in ACC. So the output of the analyzer has to be off. And what are the odds they get 2 RMA’s within 24-48 hours same issues

Ok, so it looks like the CPI installation instructions image is using an aftermarket IC setup.

The stock IC setup does not have an area for that coupler to attach to that I see.

BMS sent me this image with the stock IC. They were suggesting drilling/tapping the location with the red arrow for the CPI installation. Looks to be all plastic there. Thoughts?

I got the new one and swapped it yesterday and nothing on the reading in the JB4 app. I honestly give up.

It seems highly unlikely to me that the DAC is getting enough power and data to transmit proper ethanol and fuel temp readings to the Fuel-it! app, but not to the JB4 app... both of us having the same issue is just too coincidental; and the new one not working for me kind of says it all for me.

Thank you, question of the moment is do you get correct ethanol readings in the JB4 app if you have the e85 up in your display? Neither one of us can get the content to display in the JB4, just the fuel-it! Thank you.

Damn you new one doesn’t even work either?

Didn’t they claim to test it?

Maybe check your grounds. I shipped mine back yesterday and now am waiting

My grounds are good. I have power at the red terminal. I don’t know… I was hoping you were going to come up w the fix
this weekend I will probably cut the heat wrap off the white wire where I originally spliced it before where it goes into the bushing loom of the actual JB4 and see if it has anything. I’m not holding my breath though.

Stick a paper clip in all the harness terminals where the white wire would plug in to make sure getting a good read. Also being limited to a minimum read of 3v is probably why not seeing anything as my 3.2 volts they estimated to be around e60 and they were right a little high (e62). Sensor voltage changes by content you’ll only see a full 5v with pure 85% maybe 100% depending on sensor range.

If you were running e30, you’d be half the voltage of my 3.2 so 1.6~ which is out side your meters range

If I get a second analyzer they claim to have tested and still have issues either the sensor or bad device batch, chip programming, etc and I’d ask a partial refund to since in fuel it’s other kit to add Bluetooth is 150$ and the device doesn’t function as promise

I’m on e62 now, so I should be getting 3.2v? Should the first white terminal in the harness coming from the fuse box have 3v or only after the DAC in the harness?

You should be seeing 3.2 volts at that level, yes.

I’d say try bypassing the analyzer go right from the sensor to pin 4 but I have a feeling DAC stands for “Digital to Analogue Converter” hence the analogue output option. Maybe will work maybe signal is digital or pwm

I just got this email, same component issue

Just keep rma’ing them till one works lol eventually their bad batch will run out

Thank you. Going back and forth now. They asked for a log and said everything looks good, but they wanted me to zero out the settings for switching maps with the wiper switch. Are you running your wiper control? I’m going to delete it and try, but I know that’s not it. My meter goes down to 3v so I am going to test it right before it goes into the JB4 and then right where it comes out of the analyzer. It has power, the Fuel-it! app is connected and working fine. They didn’t ask for me to send mine back to test. Are you running separate power for the FSB and Fuel-it! or both off the same?

negative no wiper control. I run the jb4 app on my main screen using my CarPlay AI box as well as fuel it so changing maps is easy enough as it is and I don’t change maps much leave it my custom map 6 and now with my BEF getting insane timing.

The box is amazing can view logs, change configs, email logs, split screen jb4 app and have full control and you can also run any app while driving including YouTube and Netflix etc anything in App Store. Turns your main screen/wired CarPlay into a full android tablet plus gives you standard CarPlay wirelessly

So wiper control seemed antiquated

If anyone is interested in doing the same check out the AI boxes at

I recommend getting the 8gigx128 as the jb4 gauges are graphically demanding and on lower hardware can lag. If close all unused apps and kill unneeded processes (one button for each) it’s very reactive and snappy and logs don’t loose any fidelity

I know code “WastegateWarriors” is still active for 18% off plus free shipping. Think I paid around 150$ total

Legit one of the best purchases I’ve made
For this car, jb4 aside, anytime gotta kill some time and waiting in the car isn’t much of a bother anymore. Got a full web browser, GPS, plus all the video streaming apps. Can even play games and link a controller.

Up to 5 BT device connections at once so can stream music from my phone over BT while connected to jb4 and fuel it and still have room for 2 more devices
