I may have posted about this before. This is happening to me randomly where there is no sound coming from the speakers no matter the source. I would have to turn off/on the car to correct. Heard it could be a setting in the sound.

Are you pushing buttons before the system has fully engaged? Sometimes it takes well over a minute for the music source to start playing. Or is the stereo simply quitting randomly after playing?

Are you using Carplay? Or have a phone paired when it happens? My iPhone will sometimes "take over" everything and not play any audio (and no carplay icon) turning bluetooth off and on seems to correct it

This may be related to the Quantum logic sound located in the advanced section of sound settings. Happened to me when my car was about 2 months old. Found a thread on here about it. Just turn it off if it is on and this brings back the sound. No idea what causes it. Have not heard of any proper fix for it other than keeping it turned off. Have had no further problems since. Turning the car off can also reset it but it will keep happening if the quantum logic is on.

The last instance the sound malfunctioned from the moment the car turned on. I cycled through the source, but got nothing. Only came back after I turned off/on the car.

I am using android auto. I can see the music is playing, but no sound. It is very random and this is the first time in a while it has happened.

Yes, I think this was the setting another post mentioned. I have turned this off before. Turned it back on after several months and had no issues. Figured updates to android auto may have fixed the issue. I am trying to remember if it happened more often during the colder weather.

I don't know how you could determine that the sound malfunctions the moment the car is turned on: the sound does not turn on immediately, as I said. The radio comes on the most quickly; my USB sourced music can take over a minute to engage and start up.

I guess what I am saying is that from starting the car and before even pulling out of the garage a minute later, there was no sound even after I cycled through all sources. This is usually rare, which is why I took extra notice.

Rare in your experience with previous vehicles? Because that is how I would describe the difference: I've never had any vehicle that "took its sweet time" getting the selected audio source online. But it is completely normal operation with the Stinger and Harman Kardon. As I said, sometimes it is well over a minute before audio kicks in. And if I get impatient and start pushing "Media" and moving through selections, all I get right away is radio signal. Punching buttons just makes USB take longer to load up.

I was not getting sound from the radio either. That's what I meant by cycling through all sources...inc the radio.

I'm not sure what Merlin is saying because as soon as I start my Stinger, if the infotainment is on, there is sound immediately out of the speakers. Almost instantaneous. The only time this didn't occur was because of that damn quantum logic setting. This 100 percent sounds like your problem. Keep it switched off.

Further to my last, I almost always use spotify via apple carplay. There is no delay like Merlins's USB music source.

I just take it as how my audio system works. It's consistent, at least. :D

Howdy. I can add to what I already said, and sometimes my USB sourced music comes on immediately, sometimes it takes as long as a minute: this difference materialized after I did the update.
I agree with this. My audio also malfunctions including the radio. Sometimes I turn my car off and on and it will still not work right away. Did you find any other solution that you’ve found to work?

So the gremlins are back!! Sound has disappeared for no reason and it has happened twice over the past several weeks. Has anyone figured out why this happens apart from needing to disable clari-fi sound option? This is starting to get annoying!

Are you running the current software (SW Version)?

EASIEST THING TO DO IS stick a pen in the radio reset button.
and it will reset the entire system and usuallly clears this up
