How To Adjust Headlight Beam Height

Your headlamps have left-right "swivel" adjustment as well as "up/down" pitch.
I would not recommend adjusting the left right swivel. This is set at the factory, changing this will adversely affect the beam pattern on the road.

After installing my springs my headlights were aimed lower. This has been an easy fix on other cars I’ve owned but the Stinger is slightly different.

First the headlight adjustment is behind the headlight on each side under where the fender and hood meet.

Generally there is a screw to adjust the height, and this hole that’s circled has a marking saying U<—>D, seems like a logical place.

The other hole says L<—>R but there is nothing in the hole. I’ve never had a reason to adjust a headlight left to right though.

I have the K&N intake and I just had to unbolt the heat shield and remove the filter to get to the adjustment. The stock system should be easy as well as you would just need to remove the air filter box which I think is just 3 bolts and a hose clamp.

This is what is down that hole. Glad I just purchased an WiFi endescope to get this picture. Obviously that’s not a screw.

Luckily on the back side of this “gear” is a 12mm nut. It’s marked by the arrow in the top picture.

Park the car in front of a wall/garage door and turn on the lights, mark your starting location with something. I like to use painters tape.

Rotate the nut using a crescent wrench (ratcheting makes this much easier) and see which way the beam moves. If it goes up, keep going. If it goes down, go the other direction. It’s a tight fit so you’ll only get maybe 1/10 a rotation before hitting the frame and it’s a fine adjustment so the 1” I moved the beam took 1 - 1 1/2 rotations of the nut.

Thank you so much for posting this … I’ve rarely lifted up the car bonnet (as we say in the U.K.)… but I managed to do it exactly as posted.

Turn the nut anti clockwise to higher the lights

Thanks again

Err... mean't bonnet's..you know, to check for oil consumption. Boot's too.

For the U.K… I would suggest raising 2-3 inches at 10ft - everyone keeps flashing me (and it isn’t because the love the car)

Take out air boxes three bolts. Take off tube. You will see bolt head. I think 12 mm go counter clockwise to raise. Put tape on wall wait until dark. I went up about ten inches above tape put it back to normal before springs
Hi Mate, do remember how far off the wall your car was?

Does this adjustment move low beam as well as high beam ?
It should. HB and LB are part of the same projector. There's a shield that forms the LB cut-off that flips out of the way when the HBs are activated

So the GT2 has DBL which automatically adjusts the light as it goes, so will this get the overall height as you drive as well?
Upon checking the manual the side-to-side can be turned off when you are not in the auto, but it says the leveling operates continuously in all modes.
Can any one try it out and confirm this?

for the height adjustment just have your car on level ground with a wall in the front and mark the top with tape after adjustment. After that drive your car slowly back away from the wall and check if the light is getting lower or higher from the tape mark, and you will be able to adjust it depends on if your light is getting lower or higher as you back up.

I don't have the gt2 so I only have the leveling feature and not DBL and I do see it work sometimes when driving.. after braking the car will squat back down especially if i have people sitting in the back and i will see the lights adjust downwards. I'd assume that would be the same for the gt2 since the leveling part i think is required on xenon lights via dot regulation pretty sure LED would fit under that? (not sure on that but i'm pretty sure i've read it somewhere :p )

Well since I can only see about 40~50ft in front while driving on highway so just wanted to make sure if this will get the headlight aim higher while driving as well. I will just try to adjust it and see if it makes any difference.

Just did mine the funnel way with a long screwdriver. It is super easy to do and I don’t get it why do you have to remove the airbox. The funnel clearly says up/down and the other left/right. Clockwise for up on a 2020 GT. One whole nut revolution didn’t do much. Just put a tape on the wall and keep turning til you meet you desired adjustment.

that's how I did it. the boxes off thing never seemed necessary to me.

Thanks for this post, my 2018 GT2 lights were set way too low. Used method described above with car parked 6-8 ft in front of my garage door. Using painter's tape I adjusted both sides up about 3.5 inches on the door, then it seemed like further turning of the bolt did nothing. Taking it out that night it seemed too high: LED lights are very bright even in low setting and seemed to be shining on the upper portion of cars in front of me and lighting up signs waaaaaaay down the freeway. Today I attempted to adjust them down, but after a ton of cranking, I could only get them to come down around 1/2 inch??? Wondering if this has something to with self leveling feature?
You used the black bolt or a screw driver ? I have a GT2 also

2018 GT2 AWD - I just stuck a standard screw driver in that slot and started turning. There are teeth in there, didn't remove anything. It took me about 3 minutes per side.
That one hole worked to raise both headlights ???
