• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Hi, I'm Ray (Harlequin) and I live in SE QLD. I ordered my Stinger GT in mid October. I'm wondering whether anyone out there has picked up their new vehicle in November or December?

When did the dealer say it would arrive?

My GT was built in August with Australia marked as its destination. I ordered it on 3rd September and it arrived on 3rd November. So that took two months. I think it was pre-ordered by the dealership but can't be too sure. Or maybe they snapped it up after I ordered it.

I was also told a white GT is available and would arrive later in mid to late 2022.

Anybody picking up a new Stinger in November or December probably ordered it in May or June. I was in at my dealership last week for a service and was told minimum 6 month wait on new orders. Personally I think 6 months is optimistic as I would expect Kia to prioritise manufacturing of their higher selling models.

Oh, and welcome.

If you got a car in two or three months you picked up someone else's cancelled order. Expect a years wait.

Hello Ray, welcome to the group.

I ordered my car in January 2021, and I'm still waiting. I've had zero updates on status, production no. etc for the whole year - until yesterday when I was notified it might be here mid March.

I truly hope that anything ordered during last year, such as yours, gets here sooner than 12 months. Surely there must be a shipload of cars making its way to Aus soon!??

Interestingly, I noticed last week that the Kia Australia webpage appears to have updated the Stinger photographs to show it with the new badge.

The videos and that spinning 360° image still show the old badge, but all the glam photos are the same ones that were there before but the badge is no longer the black oval one.

Spoke with a guy today that is considering ordering a Stinger and he was advised at least an eight month wait.

Surely there must be a shipload of cars ...
I said something like that once as a child, and my mother washed out my mouth with soap. Hah.

I noticed the same changes on the website. Dealer says all new arrivals are MY22 with the new badges. The Kiwis have already received some; three available last week at an Auckland dealer. None in the UK. Left hand drive models available in the US and Canada.
I admire your patience in waiting since last January.
The QLD Police have ordered another batch of GTs. That might speed things up?
Makes me wonder whether Kia are trying to kill the Stinger citing low sales? Guess many are put off because there are no new ones at dealers to purchase? I'll hang in there for mine.

Received a call yesterday from the dealer's sales rep that a vehicle with my options (Ceramic Grey; Red Leather) would be available mid February due to a cancelled order. The hitch was that the car would cost me another $2,200 more than the price on my contract with them. I find this kind of approach by sellers disappointing. I've read about this happening on other blogs.

This is why dealers are happy for folks to cancel out of frustration. I often wonder if units get sold out from under people that accept a longer wait time, that's why it's good to have a VIN.

I ordered my Stinger at the end of November 21 with an ETA for July 2022.
Spoke to the dealer yesterday, no production allocation yet but he still said its on track for July.

Ask your dealer how they justify that additional cost, if you have a signed contract with them to buy a car for an agreed price they cannot ask for more money after that, call their bluff & tell them you will either go to fair trading & complain or cancel your order & go elsewhere.
I bet that cancelled car is from another dealer so ring around to see who has what, you may get lucky.

Back in 2019 the dealership showrooms were filled with Stinger's.

Yeah, I'd like to know what their rationale is for this too. You ordered a car; the car is available; what else is there to discuss?

That's what others are saying. Remember when if you wanted a car and the dealer didn't have it. They would search high and low for one for you AT NO EXTRA COST! It appears that that was old fashioned decency then. The customer was happy and came back; even recommended the dealer to others.
Would any of you do that now?

Hi just joined stingerforum.
I ordered a Stinger May last year still waiting on delivery, last update from dealer was no real ETA at the moment.

Hi...new to the forum. Test drove my future today and have been told a 12 month wait....disappointed!

Yes, that's what they say. EV6 will be in showrooms next month. Pity Kia can't (or won't) pick up their act with Stinger production?
