Hi,

I'm looking for some advise on how to remove the rear seats. Basically any tips on how to do it.

I understand there are four bolts holding them in place but is that all? Do they just lift out when you remove the four bolts? Are they easy enough to install back in?

Thanks!!

Have not removed them all the way, however, the bottoms appear to just "lift" out. I pulled one side up during my purchase inspection.

Correct the lower section is pressed in. The back rest section is bolted down to the chasis.

Ok, so the lower section can just be lifted up? Is it secured in any way? I did try and lift the lower section up previously but it seemed solid.

Ok, so I just tried it again. If you lift the lower section in the middle of the left & right seat their is a snap fastener or similar. So, once you have both of those unfastened it looks like it will lift up. I haven't tried to lift it up completely it as i'm at the office but will take a closer look later. Thanks all for your comments.

Sounds correct. I think there is a "fastener" on each edge by the door too!

Came across a useful video on the subject. Looks like the seat does just pull up and overcome the pressure locks.

NOPE , it just pulls up , no bolts , I did the sound deadening under mine a few months ago

My seat has the two bolts at the back referenced in part 2 of the above video.

correct if you are removing the seat back , the seat bench is just friction fit , and lifts out with pressure .

My GT2 you have to remove two bolts, this video wasted minutes of my life I'll never get back, she said she thought it came out great... lol.... literally a useless video, she had no idea what she was doing and was trying to learn it as she did it with no rehearsal

OK, so help a brother out -- because I want to Kilmat under my rear seat ...

I was able to pull up the FRONT of the rear bench easily. Just popped out. But I could not get the rear of the bench to come loose. Do you pull UP? Pull FORWARD? Push BACK and then pull UP? What is the motion to detach the rear of the seat?

Will the rear seat backs fold flat if you pull out the rear seat base? I want to create a flat surface to put a mattress on top.

you may have to support them as the lay on the bench , I doubt the hinge would support it

a single mattress fits in the back! Who knows the stinger could be a camper sports sedan?
