I have all my doors set to unlock when I put the car in Park. But every once in a while I go to get something out of the back seat and the rear doors (only) are locked. What gives?

Looks like another manual peruse for me

May be a glitch. Either that or else a mysterious protocol vis-a-vis locking/unlocking doors. I still manage to foil my attempts to get into my own car, after 32 plus months. I don't really understand it, or forget what to expect. Etc.

It's been awhile, but I thought it was programmable. When I press the button on the driver's side door handle, it unlocks all the doors, but I'm pretty sure that pressing the passenger door button only unlocks my front doors. I do have a vague recollection of adjusting some settings to get all 4 doors to unlock.

Used to live where a lot of car jackings occurred, so all doors locked when driving only drivers door unlocked when unlocking the car.

When the engine is running and you get out, all bets are off. <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f61b.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":P" title="Stick Out Tongue :P" data-smilie="7"data-shortname=":P" /> I've noticed that when I go to open a passenger door, it is locked. Pushing the front passenger button does nothing; in order to unlock a passenger door with the engine running, I have to walk around to the driver's door, open it and push the unlock button.

lol they are trying to keep us safer! No jumping out with the car running!

I have noticed I need to unlock them the few times I have gone into the back. Never thought much about it as I hardly ever go into the back seats. I will need to play with the car some and see what it does.

I need to go out and see how I have the setting set for the doors. I know for sure only the drivers door unlocks and all lock once driving.

This is something I ran across. My daughter says the door never unlocks. It was set to unlock when in P. Well, I usually just push the on/off button to shut off the car (before hitting P) and it automatically goes into Park and shuts down, but the rear doors don't unlock.

I switched it to unlock at shut off and that works, but I'd rather have it unlock in Park, even when I don't press P before shutting it off.

It's a weird system for sure.

I've had this happen to me, but only a few times. I have no idea what triggers it.
