Have you been challenged?

Yeah, I still get stalkers with my 10 year old G8 and my GTO as well. They will be running a bit faster than I am, slow at my rear fender to look the car over for about a minute or two, then resume previous speed. I kind-of enjoy getting hung in the left lane behind other cars passing traffic when some idiot in a UV rides my bumper. Then the traffic clears and he gets real tiny in my rear view mirror. Itching to resume my driving in 3 weeks in the Stinger.

Had a P85D clock me today on my way home. To much traffic to stretch our legs. Just a leisurely drive home.

I have only drove my stinger a couple times since getting it but I have a 2015 Optima sx that has red aftermarket sparco rims and wow because of the red tuner wheels everyone wants to race me nonstop. Even the soccer moms in minivans punch it from the stoplights it’s hilarious.

I had a pleasant experience. I think it was a taurus sho. But, he was speeding a bit and got stuck behind someone. I saw it happening in front of me, so I pushed to the right lane shifted into sport mode and went past everyone and resumed normal speed. A couple of seconds later I saw the sho speeding to catchup. Once he got close, I shifted to sport mode and punched it again and he did the same. We were cruising together at 120 for a bit. Turned out, we both had to take the same exist.

I had a similar right-lane situation with a Mustang, but he pulled beside me on the left after catching up. It was dark, so I could barely make out his silhouette, but he seemed to be waving some sort of blue LED-type light at me (not a laser, just something similar in power to the red alarm light on our dashboards). I wasn't sure if that was just a random light he was using to acknowledge me, or if it was some other form of street signal that I'm not aware of.

Lots of approval upon peaking at the badge. Some big smiles. Some attitude from BMW and Audi's. Noticed many drivers sitting at rear quarter panel at red lights checking it out. Haven't seen another yet in my region. Haven't been challenged yet, but not giving a chance at red lights either. Hehe...love my Stinger!

A German guy in an Audi A6 rolled down his window at a light to ask me about the car lol

As far as challenges...a blacked out 330i pulled up next to me on a straightaway and punched it at the green. Did I bite? No...lots of cops hiding in my town haha BUT I still smiled because I knew I would blow away that BMW if I wanted to!

Definitely getting a lot of looks, and it's nice being able to punch the gas even the tiniest bit and get ahead of someone, like the Mercedes S-class that wouldn't let me merge

When you're hitting speeds like that, are you not worried about cops at all? Are you using a radar detector? I've got Waze up and it's helpful for speed traps but I know my luck is still pretty shitty when it comes to being pulled over!

I am amazingly worried about it. Waze only for now. I don't plan on doing that again unless my manhood is challenge :) lol

It's fun knowing that you can if needed.

Must agree with @bugaboo90. It isn't what you do, it's what you CAN do if you want to. It's a sense of self-confidence -- latent ability.

When I was in the military, we had some pretty "bad" dudes in the Rangers and other clandestine groups. These guys were always as nice as anyone you'd ever want to meet. They never reacted to a challenge that was unnecessary. They never showed off. But they knew what they could do only if absolutely necessary and when they did, it wasn't pretty. Long fuse, quick temper.

That's kind of how I drive. I'm way too old to get baited into a stoplight challenge in the city. And there aren't many stoplights on the open highway in the U.S. where I live and drive. And a high speed run is very risky on the pocketbook from fines and insurance. But every once in a while, someone needs a dose of humiliation for being a jerk. Tailgating and forced merging are two of my favorites. My GTO isn't "tricked up" so it's pretty plain. It's amazing how many people don't recognize it for what it is. My Stinger isn't here yet (2-1/2 weeks....) but it will assume that role along side the faithful GTO.

I saw a GTO yesterday actually and had to do a double take, don't see them often. I was so intrigued by them when they were being teased by Pontiac (couldnt buy one as I was in high school haha) but I wish they did what Dodge and Ford did with the old muscle cars and went "retro" with the new design. It's too bad we'll never get another GTO.

Well, I still have mine - showroom condition, bright blue metallic with blue leather. Probably never sell it. The kids will have to pry the keys out of my cold dead hands.

I remember that blue leather option! Very cool.

That's me as well. Long fuse, BIG bomb. :p And I spent over 10 years in MMA - that bomb was vicious. Nowadays that long fuse has turned into a fuse that never runs out. And living with a Zen practitioner for several years helped. When I was young I could very easily experience road rage. I've been given some interesting nicknames over the years. But as you get older you (hopefully) learn how fragile life is, that most things happening on the road are nothing personal, and that driving is too dangerous for anything out of the ordinary considering how many people are looking at phones...

Always drive to survive, but that does NOT mean you can't have fun doing it. :sneaky::p

Haven’t yet def some looks at lights very confused at what I was driving I was told mine was the 5th Stinger sold at the dealership I went to 7 days ago. Looking forward to dusting somebody lol
