I wanted red interior on my SWP, but it was N/A at the time on Gt2s. Having seen this color combo in the 2019s makes me just want to trade it in and get it. The red looks amazing.
Like black also for the same "looking clean" reason. Tinted my windows with FormulaOne Stratos. Super tint. Virtually no heat transfers to the cabin except for the front windshield ... and you can get a screen for that. Wish KIA would offer a black interior with deep cherry red highlights. I would be all over that!
FYI tint can be very light but still block thermal rays very well. Would help with that Hawaiian heat be it black or red interior. The wait is well worth it, to get exactly what you want.
I’d go with the Ceramic/red combo. Awesome looking combo. I’ve got the white/red combo. My car came from the dealer with a tint installed, which was actually the first thing I was already planning to do, I was glad I didn’t have to pay for it right away.
I live in Southern California and the summers out here 30 minutes from the desert can get pretty hot. I never had a problem with my leather feeling too hot. I also use a windshield cover, so that cuts down on interior temperature immensely also. Just clean the leather about every other month and it should remain looking amazing.
Black of course is more practical and with kids in and out is what I have, although I didn't get an option with the Micro Blue.
For a while I was considering Snow White pearl with the red seats as it does look so classy but was hard to get when I was looking.
Someone mentioned you can get dye transfer to clothes on the red leather but I don't know how true this can be
As far as being " hotter " in summer.....meh....had black seats in my Optima and that was parked outside a lot in summer, just used the cooling seats....no issues.
Ceramic on red was my preference, I absolutely love that combo. If you can hold out then I'd do so. If not, then you won't be disappointed getting into your Stinger with black leather instead.
I got the red interior on my 2019 GT and wouldn't have it any other way. Especially when it's nice and clean. Also, the interior mood lighting looks awesome in the blue or purple mode. I feel like I'm inside a John Wick film. haha
When I was shopping I passed up a good deal on ceramic/black because I really wanted red. Finally found a ceramic/red and I'm glad I waited.
Not hating on black, but TX heat is brutal and I like the contrast. I've had no issues with dye transfer, but the inevitable creases in the bolsters are more obvious..
I also think the red nappa (GT2) is a little darker than non-nappa.
Also +1 on the ceramic tint. The stuff works very well and doesn't have to be dark to be effective (hell, I think they have clear ceramic for windshields that still blocks UV)
*Great* info, thanks to all for the input. I am TD a Genesis G70 today to compare. The *only* reason I would it over the Stinger is that it is shorter. I like the styling of the Stinger quite a bit better. The G70 looks like every other luxury sedan out there.
A big plus for me after also looking/driving the G70 is that the Stinger has the hatch which
I find to be a big bonus. So much more room in the trunk, and easier to load.
I traded my 2018 G80 + cash for my Stinger.
I also love my red interior gives car a better look, I've had too many cars with all black everything blends in where as with red it highlights different lines etc...
