How much is getting it sprayed going to cost? How will you pick the shop that gives the best shot at matching?

I have 5 local body shops that are the highest rated on my area....i will get quote from all of them just to paint the bumper....no labor, just paint ....first i will see if the crack is fixible and what they quote me ti just them fix it ...if its over 600 then i am just going to buy a bumper...get it painted and install myself....bumper 300 and paint should be around 300

Rear bumper should not cost more than $500 for paint from a top rated shop! I'm sure some would be down to about half that as well

Cracked bumpers are easily "welded" and repaired without the need to be replaced , there are even how to vids on youtube

I seen that but I am defenetely not going to try to repair it myself lol .... I am so pissed that I just want to destroy something hence why I am staying away from the wife ..... lol .....but I will be going to 5 local body shop today to get quotes hopefully they can repair but they will still need to paint the whole bumper and not forget labor cost .... I am probably looking at 1000 easy .... I might save money by buying a bumper and installing myself but let see what the shop quotes look like ...

No. Any crack or rip or hole in that plastic means the bumper gets replaced. You could paint over it but it would be like a crack in a ceiling because a house is settling on its foundation (I speak from empirical experience); the flexing continues, the crack reappears. The very first time your bumper flexed the paint would crack. You have to get a new bumper if you are not going to live with the crack, period.

I read this kind of thing after making a blatant assertion (just above), and I say, aaagain: I know practically nothing about almost everything. However, count me skeptical. I've got a hefty dose of respect for "flex" over time. I don't believe a "welded" plastic bumper would be anywhere near as strong as a solid, new bumper. Then there is the labor involved to do a competent "weld" job; and you are getting near the price of a new bumper anyway. Etc.

I agree that’s why I want to get quote because I’f to fix is the the price of a new bumper he’ll I will buy the new bumper myself and installed myself ...

I understand every word of this. I KNOW how I would feel, for a long time (possibly forever after) if my wife marred, much less destroyed, my car.

My wife has driven my Stinger maybe three times totaling less than an hour and each time I have been in the car with her watching every move. She's a good driver. But I am scared of this car in her hands if it became a "habit". She actually doesn't aggravate me with requests to drive my car. I have hinted that if this moves in that direction, she needs a new car of her own.

There's a thread on removing the bumper in the thread about the tow hitch - search for 'hitch' and it should come up. I used that when I installed my hitch and it was great. I'll search and update when I find it.

Lol hahahaha .... I called the body shops and made appointments and was telling the guys to get quotes to see how much the wife is going to cost me. I agree my wife is a good driver for women’s standards I guess, she is careful and usually never speeds. Being in Illinois winters are rought so I let her drive the car all the time. I have a little winter beater I use in winter ... since my other cars are RWD and stored she pretty much daily drives the stinger ... and she has to take and pick our daughter from school daily .... so I only drive the car on the weekends lol when we go out as a family .... I forgot the last time I drove the car by myself ... now I had told her to drive my Lexus to her classes at night but you know how that goes .... but anyways I am going to fix this and I am going to change the rules ... when she goes to the night classes she is to drive the Lexus .... and during the normal week she will use the car mon-wed and I will use it thu-fri ... we will drive the car half and half .... man I am saving up to just buy her like a suv and stinger be used only during the summer ..

I don't understand how you even back up into a car in the Stinger.... you have the rear view camera and all those parking sensors that go nuts when you're even within 2 feet of another vehicle.

Dude please don’t even tell me this shit .... This just makes my blood boil and wonder wtf happened ... at this point I don’t even want to know .... I still can’t beleive it .... I just don’t know ..... I mean wtf with all this tech she still manages to hit another car that is parked ??? Dude don’t even say more I felt like running her over lol ...

Keep breathing, @Angel , it's the only key: Calmly, deeply, of course. Make sure you push your tummy out when you inhale deeply, so that you expand your diaphragm. :D
