What gas to use?

Folks, spend a moment and watch “should I burn premium fuel in my car” by Auto Expert Tv on YouTube. Entertaining... and educational. db

If paying for premium gas will help my car last longer...then the trade off is worth it.

I learned the advantage of buying premium gas many years ago while on a trip and stopped to get a fill-up. The attendant automatically filled my tank up with 'regular' instead of the high test I always bought ...without asking me first & before I realized what he was doing! I had been checking my gas mileage during that trip & it made a difference of 10 mpg less for that tank-full!
All cars might not make that big of a difference in mileage as that Toyota Tercel that dropped from 40 mpg trip to 30 mpg ....If better hwy mpg were the only advantage it would still be worth it but better performance & less wear & tear on the motor added to better mileage makes it a no-brainer IMO

Higher octane is a side benefit from only using ethanol-free gas.

If I'm not mistaken, the tank is 16-16.5 gallons. Average 21-23 with about a 50/50 split of city/hwy driving. I have an AWD, so my mileage will be a little less than a RWD.

It won’t get that much at all. Not even if you are trying. Not even in eco mode.

Howdy. What kind of Stinger do you have? When I try, I can get 22+. When it's too much effort, I get 21, either side of. When I spend a lot of time idling listening to my music and staying comfy, waiting for my wife' errand runs, I get 19-.

On my morning commute, I've seen up to 26 mpg. On longer trips where I'm staying around 70 I have gotten 29 for the trip. If I have a lot of city driving or catch a lot of lights, it will drop. This past weekend, I filled the tank up to the neck, 16.2 gallons is what it registered with 22 miles to empty. Filled up yesterday, 16.2 with 18 miles to empty with 343 miles driven. So depending on how you drive, you can do better with the economy. I use premium 93 and when I can find it, I put in premium (mostly 93) gas with no ethanol.

These numbers are approximate, but on my daily driving, which includes a combo of city and rural-road driving - and a lot of it in Sport mode - I'm getting 22-ish. I've taken quite a few long trips / freeway-hauls that include many long 80-85mph legs in Eco mode, and I get 27-28 mpg. I'm sure if you "took it easy" on the highway, you could get close to 30. I think these numbers are surprisingly good, given the V6 TT power. This is better than my V6 3.5L Altima coupe that I owned for ten years. All that said, I didn't buy my Stinger GT2 AWD with gas mileage as a consideration.

I use 93 that I purchase from Sam's Club...normally about 20 cents cheaper then most other gas stations. On a road trip I can get anywhere from 27-29 MPG depending on my right foot. Around town I am pretty much around 20 MPG. But I do drive the Stinger hard.

The manual says 91 all the time
No e85 or additives. You need to get good gas too.
Shell or mobil are excellant examples of ''good gas''

That's insane, honestly if I was paying $8.80 a gallon here I wouldn't be driving a Stinger. At Costco I'm paying $2.75 a gallon for 93 O.O

Maverick ? Or just have the dealership give additives at services
Loved him in ''TOP GUN''. If you keep fresh fuel and use whatever regularly; Ethenol will not do much harm, (It will do some in the long run), But we have additives I just found a bottle under my pillow..........

I think a metric gallon is 4.56 litres thats what i based it on. The price per litre for premium what we call 98 is up to $1.93 per litre. I think your imperial gallon is smaller? Still its expensive, those i Europe well its through the roof! Our fuel is RON and is available in 91, 95 and 98.
