3.3TT Kia Stinger 3.3TT SSR Downpipes +30WHP / +26WTQ NO TUNE!!!!! Dyno Runs and Testing

Hey guys!

Just an update... second batch of downpipe orders are going to start shipping within the next couple days :)

Quick video comparing stock exhaust to the SSR Downpipes.

Sorry about the audio cutting out. It’s an issue with my phone.

Overall there is a noticeable increase in power and sound. It’s not loud, but it is louder. No drone.

Mine sounds exactly the same.. just some nice sweet tones from the piping but no drone.

I realised the stock pipes have welded bolts part way through and couldn't wiggle it out. Does this mean the piping after the midpipes have to be removed as well or is there something I am doing wrong (again...)

Unbolt the bracket in the middle from the chassis as well as from the pipe. Remove nuts from rear bolts and front bolts, there should be enough play for you to wiggle the pipes out. It's a snug fit, there is a good amount of play. Also this is likely the part that is much easier on a lift vs jack stands.

Will using these cause the car to throw a code? My service manager said he is cool with my putting these on the car without voiding any warranty so long as it doesn’t throw a code. His concern was wether the O2 sensor would still be in place.

No it won’t. The o2 is up near the first cat off the turbo.

pretty hard to believe 30 RWHP from just a down pipe, there's still one cat left right? I just don't see how you get that much when you still have that one major bottle neck in the exhaust. That number sounds more reasonable from a turbo back exhaust. I wonder what's going on, very strange.

Go look at a stock DP. There is a major bottle neck removed by these pipes.

The majority of power gains in a turbo back system are from the DPs not the mufflers.

When your compare the stock pipes next to these its pretty apparent why they provide a significant gain.

correct, most of the power is from removing all the major restrictions (bends and cats typically). The DP only removes one cat, not both, is the other cat not nearly as restrictive as the cat that was removed?

I'm anxious to see what aftermarket primary downpipes (2.5 inch diameter) with high flow cats would yield in terms of a power increase. Probably substantial seeing as the OEM primary downpipes are 1.25 inches diameter.

Well, just put an order in for these. Now it's time to play the waiting game...

I say the parts where the pipe gets crimped down to 1” is more restrictive than either of the cats.
